Wow. Been a while since I posted. Been busy working full time and having a kid, doesn't leave time for much else. I'm trying to learn how to build computers, mostly trail and error though my research turned up a few things. Also actively participating in a band which will hopefully become profitable around the end of January. Still really worried about my parents, esp. my dad. That's all for now.

New York

I went camping in New York last weekend, somewhere near Duanesburg at the Nickerson camp ground. It was pretty awesome. First day I got my boots wet and had to dry them out, so I walked around barefoot and apparently got poison ivy that I just found out about a few days ago. Got drunk and sparred with a friend near some cliffs, got several cuts and bruises, and a nice open wound with infection on the sole of my other foot that still hasn't healed yet. I tried to climb a cliff but got attacked by something that stung the shit outta my arm and face, so I chose a different route and used my knife to climb part of the way, which made me feel awesomely manly, what with shoving my knife into the sides of cliffs and pulling myself up. The whole cliff climbing adventure was just to get to the store for some soda too. And Smirnoff. ^_- We also went hiking about 2 miles down a trail to the most beautiful waterfall ever, surrounded by a little lake with a shore of warm small pebbles that felt great to lay on. And every star in the sky was out. That was truly awesome. I had a lot of fun with my bros, and meet one of their extended family's, and they were all cool as hell and kept throwing food at me to eat. (Which of course I did). Maybe something else/more later.

About my dad

So about my dad...first off, he has skin cancer, he has his whole life and has had over 400 operations to remove it, including having entire sections of skin lasered off, like his face. you didn't even know they did that, did you? Neither did I. But they do. Another common procedure is to use liquid nitrogen to freeze small sections of skin and remove them. Weird shit. Anyway, after 30 some years, they finally found melanoma. My dad is 54 years old and has chronic arthritis in every bone in his body from a truck accident that almost killed him in which he was told he had a 15% chance to live and would never walk again. Well, he's alive and kicking (literally) though he's in rough shape, especially with the new melanoma. Well they did a surgery that took out all of the lymph nodes in his right arm but that didn't get rid of it all, so they're starting him on radiation treatments and Infuron or something, I dunno exactly how to spell it or what it is, but it's kinda like chemo. Now I don't want you to feel bad for him, that's not what this is for because he's a tough old bastard and I think death is afraid to get too close to him, but he also recently lost his job, and they won't tell him why but that's how Delaware is, what with At-Will-Employment. So fuck them, he needs money to keep a house over my mom and little sister's head and food on the table, so while he is looking for a job, can you please donate something? A dollar would even be helpful. Normally he wouldn't need it, but he's lost a string of jobs before this one for reason like "they didn't like where the program was going" or stupid shit like people getting offended when there was no reason to be. So please, contribute whatever you have extra, I will keep the blog updated with how he is doing. By the way, he works in Safety, he has an Associate's Degree and about 20 years of experience, if you know of a job opening, please comment or email me at rkiplingif@yahoo.com. Thank you for listening. :-)

The Expendables

Unbiased Review:
The story was weak, you can tell they tried and it was there if you looked for it, but the underlying point took no thought to find. Everything is very spelled out and lead to a movie that was not at all intellectually stimulating. The action was great, highest action-scene-time-to-total-movie-time ratio I have ever seen, decent acting, except on Mickey Rourke's part, he had great acting. At times the movie moved too fast and it was difficult to see what was going on in certain fights, almost like the frame rate was too low, but hopefully that will be better when the DVD comes out. Best cast of any action movie ever (obviously). Overall, if you want pure testosterone driven adrenaline for 2 hours, go see it. Or even if you are a fan of action movies. Otherwise go see Inception. Excellent movie all around with a brilliant story and the ending will leave you breathless. (It did literally for me)

So about websites.

My friends and I had this great idea for a website, but I won't tell you what it is because then you'll steal it. :-P But I will say that hostgator.com is awesome. I emailed them and they were really friendly and helpful answering all my questions, they have all kinds of tools and utilities for your site, you can even buy a dedicated server if you don't wanna deal with the 25% resources rules, which is honestly enough for just about any site, but who knows? Maybe you'll start the next youtube? Check 'em out if you're looking for a host.

And the guy who makes Blair's Hot Sauce made one that was 15 million units to set a world record. You can try his Ultra Death Anniversary Edition, which is 1.2 million units, it's on the market right now. Just be careful. Seriously.

Unnamed Thus Far

The ground is cold and restless
Ever with tremors it's filled
From a thousand unending dead marches
Their tracks won't stop 'til they're killed

I've been at this for years on end
I know now that it won't ever stop
I used to hope for a grand salvation
Once the last rotted head had dropped

I once had a vision so true to me
I could feel it's presence around
I knew that if I survived long enough
That others like me would be found

But city after city, field after field
There was naught but my tireless foe
And day after day my hope grew less
'Til I knew all that was left to know

The empty buildings, dusty streets
Horizon to Horizon decay
And I the only speck of life
The end had passed far before today

And now to the East I see the sunrise
To the West I can smell the next town
A new day begins, my sixth without sleep
I seem to have forgot how to frown

Though knowing that I am doomed to the fate
Of every last man on the earth
But I can stave off this squalid demise
I will not be condemned to rebirth

To my side is strapped a Colt .44
One bullet is all that remains
A rusty and bloodstained machete in hand
I wonder what this town contains

I turn from the sun, smile plastered on still
I can't help but feel such great joy
When there's nothing left to live for now
The line of life and death is a toy

And though my muscle and bone and sinew
Strain and implore me to stop
My will that forces them even asks me "Why?"
To which I simply reply "Why not?"
